Can I Learn to Do Fascial Release on My Own Pet?

Absolutely!
And honestly… you probably already do pieces of it naturally without even realizing it.
I’m a certified Fascial Maneuver Coach through Human Garage, and I originally started doing Fascial Maneuvers on myself and my family. Over time, it just naturally flowed into doing some gentle maneuvers with our family dog Lola.
She would cuddle up next to me and I would softly start applying some of the movements and touch I had learned. At first, I was nervous. I thought, “Am I going to hurt her?” But I had watched my Human Garage teachers, Jason and Gary, work with their own dogs, and the more I explored gently and intuitively, the more I noticed something beautiful happening.
The dogs loved it.
They would relax.Shake it off.Come back for more.Lay down next to me again.
That’s when I started realizing this work was not about “fixing” animals. It was about connection.
First… What Is Fascia?
Most people have no idea what fascia even is.
We know we have muscles, bones, organs, and skin… but fascia is one of the most incredible systems in the body that people are just starting to learn about.
Your pet has fascia. You have fascia.Your children have fascia.
Fascia both connects us and separates us internally. It helps hold the organs in place while also keeping everything from collapsing into each other. It surrounds muscles, joints, nerves, and tissues throughout the body.
And in my personal experience, fascia also holds history.
Stress.Trauma.Tension.Protection patterns.
Just like humans, our pets experience life through their bodies too.
The Biggest Thing I’ve Learned?
Pets Respond to Our Nervous System
This is why MoLove PAWS Reset is called “Fascial Maneuvers for Pets and Their Humans.”
Because the pets want the HUMAN regulated first.
Our animals absorb our energy. They are like little emotional sponges. They want to feel safe. They want to know their human is grounded and calm.
That’s why inside our online PAWS Reset gatherings, we always start with the humans first.
We sync up together. We breathe. We do 15–20 minutes of Fascial Maneuvers for the humans first.
Then we invite the pets in.
Sometimes your pet may walk over immediately.Sometimes they may keep their distance.Sometimes they’ll come and go throughout the session.
That’s all okay.
We are not training the animal. We are not forcing anything. We are simply creating a calm, connected environment where both humans and pets can soften together.
The Rescue Dog That Changed Everything for Me
There was one moment that really shifted everything for me.
I was at a family gathering and there was a beautiful Shepherd mix rescue dog there. She was maybe around three years old. While everyone was hanging out, I kept feeling called toward her.
So I sat down near her and just started softly stroking her body.
She would come close…then walk away…then come back again.
Eventually I squatted down on the concrete in the backyard and started doing some gentle Fascial Maneuvers I had learned from my Human Garage teachers.
And she completely melted.
She let me touch her ears. Her hind legs.Areas that can sometimes feel sensitive for dogs receiving this kind of touch.
Not “painful” sensitive.Just unfamiliar.
Every time she came back, I would do a little more.
My friend actually recorded a video of me doing it, and afterward I sent it to some of my Human Garage coach cohort and asked:
“Am I doing this right?”
Their response meant everything to me.
They said:“If the pet loves it, keeps coming back, and you’re following your intuition and the animal’s comfort level… you really can’t do it wrong.”
That moment stayed with me deeply.
And honestly, that’s why I launched MoLove PAWS Reset: Fascial Maneuvers for Pets and Their Humans.
“What If I Hurt My Pet?”
I think this is the biggest fear people have.
And honestly… I had the same fear at first too.
But here’s what I’ve learned:
Most pet owners already have beautiful instincts.
You love your animal. You’re not trying to hurt them. And they know that.
The key is respecting boundaries.
If your pet walks away, let them.If they stiffen, pause. If they come back, continue gently.
Sometimes Lola would even pretend-bite me when I got into an area she wasn’t sure about yet. I would simply ease up and let her adjust.
Our pets communicate very clearly when we’re willing to listen.
Is This “Woo-Woo?”
Honestly?
Maybe a little.And I’m okay with that.
If “woo” means spending a Sunday morning grounding yourself, connecting with your pet, laughing together, breathing deeper, and feeling more present in your own home…
then give me all the woo.
This work doesn’t have to be so serious.
Sometimes your pet may just want belly rubs.Sometimes you may only do tiny little movements.Sometimes your pet may simply lay next to you while you regulate your own nervous system.
That still matters.
Important Safety Notes
I always want to be very clear:
I am not a veterinarian or medical pet professional.
This work is gentle nervous system support and connection-based touch.
Please always use common sense and consult your veterinarian for any medical concerns.
Inside PAWS Reset, we use extremely light pressure — more like how you would touch a child, not deep bodywork. The pressure is always guided by what the pet can comfortably handle.
And honestly, sometimes the “maneuver” is simply loving presence and gentle petting.
Your pet will absolutely tell you when they’ve had enough.
They may get up.Walk away.Move around.Stretch.Shake.
That movement is actually important because it helps them integrate what they’re feeling through their body.
What Makes MoLove PAWS Reset Different?
This is not dog training.
This is not performance-based.
This is not about controlling your pet.
This is about community.Connection.Regulating ourselves.Moving our own bodies.Grounding.Healing together.
We meet weekly:Sundays at 10 AM Pacific / 1 PM Eastern.
We gather online from the comfort of our homes. No pressure. No perfection. No judgment if your pet decides to leave the room halfway through.
We’re simply creating a safe space for humans and pets to feel good together.
And honestly, many of us love our pets so deeply that we sometimes forget to give ourselves that same level of love and care.
PAWS Reset is a reminder that both matter.
A Community with Heart
As our community grows, I plan to bring in surprise guests and people who know even more than I do about animals, movement, grounding, and wellness.
This is something we’re growing together.
And giving back matters deeply to us too.
10% of proceeds for pets goes to Saving Dogs Inc., a Los Angeles-based pet rescue organization.
10% of proceeds for humans goes to CreateMoLove.org.
An additional 5% will go toward various pet organizations throughout the U.S.
We also have an affiliate program for those who feel aligned with this mission and want to help spread the word.
Final Thoughts
So… Can you learn to do Fascial Release on your own pet?
Yes.
But more importantly…
you can learn to slow down with them.Connect with them.Listen to them.Regulate yourself with them. And create little moments of healing and presence together.
And in today’s world, I think that’s something both humans and pets deeply need.
